New Zealand rapper Tiki Taane has been arrested for performing NWA's 'Fuck The Police' during a club inspection.
AAP reports that the recent Aussie visitor and former Salmonella Dub frontman was performing in a club in the North Island town of Tauranga on Sunday night when police arrived for a routine inspection.
He decided this would be a good time to perform one of his regular covers, NWA's 1998 anti-authoritarian classic 'Fuck The Police'.
Taane was cuffed and charged with disorderly behaviour and faces court on Friday.
He released a statement saying that he usually has an 'excellent rapport' with police and '"I feel it is unfortunate that one particular police officer became upset with the NWA lyrics I sang that night.'
Taane is set to return to Australia in May for a solo tour.
